Assignment 10 – Performative Mark Making
9.1 Due: Week 12: Day 1 – Proposal typed (action, materials, and methods).
9.2 Due: Week 14: Day 1 – final drawing (see details below)

Performance:

You will make a performance drawing created by a system, device and/or mechanism of your choosing. Every student will work within the perimeters of a given physical space (defined by you), a surface of your choice (ideally something portable such as paper), and a period of time (defined by you). You will create a system, device and/or mechanism that produce marks on your surface. What becomes performance is the method by which you create this drawing, rather than the final product. The key is to find an object(s) that you can somehow interact with to produce marks on a surface. Be creative. Think of what you already spend a considerable amount of time doing.

In addition, document your results with photography and, or video of your final piece with a short 1-2 paragraph description of your process and outcome.
